  • New Estimated Delivery Date

    Hello POP Supporters,

Since Apple changed their guidelines we have been working hard on the minor tweaks needed to bring POP from concept to reality.  Even with their announced change to the guidelines we still need to go through the certification process.

Additionally if there are any changes made to the product due to this process we should know them in February March and we will be sure to keep everyone updated with what they might be, if anything.

In terms of delivery, we met with our manufacturing partner today and based on the current milestone estimations we should be shipping out your POP’s in late June early July.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns on this please feel free to email me directly, j@edisonjunior.com or leave a comment.

Thank you for your continued support,

    Jamie

  • Update 1/11

Well sorry that we have not been updating the blog.  As you know if you bought the product through Kickstarter or read any tech press the last month has been a bit crazy.

We will be updating our delivery date to everyone on Monday the 21st.

Thanks again for all of the support!

  • Update 11/28

It is so frustrating but we have still not heard back on our approval from Apple.  We are saw a few more things come back for other customers in the factory this week.  A few were rejected and a few were accepted.  The good news is that the accepted ones were very close to our project in what needed to be done with Lightning.  So while we are frustrated with the delay we are more and more optimistic that when we hear back it will be a positive response.

  • Update 11/16

Just got off the phone with our manufacturer.  They have started to have projects come back approved that are very similar to POP.  The official approval for POP has not come back yet but as soon as it does we post it.

This is very good news as unless something crazy happens, since they have approved things very close to our product we should be OK with making the POP as we wanted to.

  • Update (well sort of)

Well I wish this was more of a update but we are still waiting on Apple for the specifics around how we are going to use lightning.

We are really hoping to have some news soon as everything else is ready to go and after hurricane Sandy we feel that POP is a lot more important then just a pretty charger.

As soon as we know something we will update here as well as send out a full update to all of our backers.

  • “Cellphone networks that were crippled or overloaded in past disasters held up relatively well in the wake of Sandy, but iPhone-toting residents of the Northeast are closely monitoring a new source of stress: battery power.”

Telecom Firms Skirt Worst Damage; Most Users Manage to Stay Connected

We in no way want to sound like we are excited about the tragedy that Sandy caused.  However it really does show how the POP product can truly be a critical item to have in a disaster that affects power.

We are working hard on Apple to get things approved around the lightning adapter so that we can get POP out to everyone ASAP.

I know that my family on the East Coast who were out of power could have used POP during this time.

  • Hope all is well

Hope all of our supporters on the east coast are safe and sound, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families.  As mentioned in our last update, we should have news for everyone regarding the Lightning Adapter on November 6th.

  • Latest from Apple

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.  Unfortunately, Apple did not report on the specifics of the Lightning adapter last week, however as TechCrunch has confirmed, they should be releasing those guidelines at their Apple Accessory Partner Seminar which takes place November 7th-8th.

  • Hopefully a big week

We are waiting anxiously this week for word from Apple on exactly how and when we will be able to use the lightning adapter.  We are not the only ones as you can see from this article.

FIngers crossed we will find out the the information this week, which will then allow us to know the other dates on POP.
